Jasmine Jolene is a resident of the under-the-sea Utopian city, Rapture. She lives in Olympus Heights, in a cozy, small apartment at Mercury Suites. While she rarely has guests, she's tried to "classy up" the abode with sparkly, expensive doodads gifted to her by Andrew Ryan. Around Rapture, Jasmine is famous for being Ryan's Mistress, and often will be called as such when addressed or accused. Contrary to belief (if it even existed) Jasmine is seen as a slattern by most if not all of Rapture, barring Siren Alley, where the real ladybirds of Rapture set up shop. But Jasmine tries to not pay them much mind, because Andrew tells her to ignore them and that she's special and that she's better than all of them, and Jasmine lets herself get swept up into the big grandiose lie that she's the only person that matters in Andrew Ryan's multimillion dollar world.

But still, it's hard to ignore people when they outright call you by "That Whore" when you go to the grocer for some coffee beans.

She works in Fort Frolic, Rapture's Entertainment District, as an "exotic dancer" in Frolic's famous Eve's Garden. She is the headlining act, as she has more pull in the business being Andrew Ryan's mistress. Jasmine even has a private room where she can rest between acts and even entertain "select" customers -- and by "select", we mean, Andrew Ryan. Only Andrew Ryan. Ryan made sure to stress this to Garden's management.

Sure, some of the girls at Eve's get a little green-eyed when Ryan visits and leaves Jasmine with little gifts, but then Jasmine comes backstage, and the sultry, throaty seductress becomes a springy, vivacious and lively little starlet who wants to share her good fortune with her fellow dancers. They usually have a lot of fun, taking turns on the center stage, cozying up to the tycoons who come rolling into Eve's with more than a dollar fifty in their pocket. They switch shifts when some of the regulars get a little too handsy, or start taking privileges without asking. The girls take care of each other and it's nice.

She wasn't some big, important scientist, or doctor, or political figure. She was just a pretty face with talent and a desire to be Somebody. The only reason she got roped into the mess was because she was that insane Cohen's little chorus girl who Andrew Ryan (yes, that bastard Ryan) found amusing. When Andrew Ryan went down to Rapture, he took the chorus girl along, promising her false dreams and lies. She was going to be a star. The darling of the stage of Rapture. Instead, she was the caged songbird in a seedy little strip club, kept financially enslaved by Andrew Ryan's manipulations (he always did like playing with his toys). Then along came Baby Jack and...well, you know what happens after that...
